NB. Some stations like YFM and the SABC block media files on their emails, so you can just email them a link instead of an actual song.

Hip Hop in the Garden

The Venue Mokolokoto garden
The show was set in a short period and it happened. TN records presented a show called hip hop in the garden on the 1st of May 2015(last week Friday. The performers pulled a good show and were highly spirited despite poor attendance; we hope the STN management who pulled such a brave stunt could in the future usher hip hop lovers with a long planned and well marketed show. They pulled a good show in just a week period; they can offer a mother show next time (Big up To Rems the brains behind the whole event). We also hope that local municipalities and businesses can also play part in such shows and help in growing and supporting local talent. Now back to the show, it was vibrant and the mood was high, STN artists Dj Sputla (King Goro himself) and mampara opened the show and set the whole platform on fire. The show Mc Mdu Mabilo of LI Media pulled a good job, the man rocked up in his clothing line T shirt GO BIG Clothing. He kept the area hyped and hyperactively introduced the Mcees till the end. Artists were ushered to rock the platform, big up to them. Artists like Nose, Rap Sharks,Fess, Big Swazi, Monster Saint, Taydos the rocking Mcee, The Vale Blubox, Rems, Toy, Skillz, Turm, St Plato, Duke, and many more. We need more shows like these in my area code, THE 013. Let BGF hip hop grow and put its mark in the SA music industry and the global stage. I still have a dream that one day; the BGF hip hop will overtake dikosha tsa manyalo (wedding songs) in the area

MAMPARA A Man behind the Song Representing Burgersfort

Who Is MAMPARA? MAMPARA(real name Isaac Mailwane) is a singer and a producer who started music at church on a group called the prosperous singing gospel; he went on & learned how to play a keyboards at church till his love for music drew him to take music as a career. And his brother Collen Mailwane contributed in sharpening his musical skills,
he taught him how to use fruity loop studio among other software’s. He is a partner at STN Records; His spare time is mostly spent with his two sons. Mampara is a stage Name and life experiences inspire him.

The song: where I’m from. This is one well organised song representing Burgersfort. In the song he worked with artists like NOSE, REMS and TEBATSO. It’s an R&B/HIP HOP song with some good poetic rhymes. The beat is strong and well arranged. The song can be downloaded on this link http://www.datafilehost.com/d/9a23198e and it is worth every megabytes. Burgersfort stand-up, Limpopo show some love. South Africa embrace your own; rest of the world experience some motherland talent.

It is without doubt that hip hop has claimed its spot in the South African music industry. It is one genre that is growing so fast all over the country and the fan base is pretty amazing. While the commercially signed Mc’s are putting their mark where the light shine bright; the underground and the unsigned Mc’s are also engineering their own lights while entertaining the locals. Small record labels are also building they selves as brands.
The BGF hip hop movement is another potential movement to take over. This movement is based in the far north of the country in the province of Limpopo in the town named Burgersfort. The cats that side really know their story. Out of their small studios they bring forth good quality sound and some dope rhymes. Their large audience is a proof of their hardworking and skill in this beautiful genre. The movement is one well organised ship and growing professionally every day. Hip hop cares awards is one of the highlights of professionalism.

I created this blog to cover this growing movement stories. The artists information, their music, videos, pictures, gig guides etc. will be covered and shared right here.
