#Obtus.. Turm To Drop An Offering

We have witnessed  the unleashing of Prism’s project The Begin End and have heard of the coming of Monster Saint’s Operation MurkEhm, and it got many wonder what might be next from Genesis; big question being “What is Turm up to?” well The 013 got your back. We got into Genesis kitchen and we found chef Turm cooking interesting meal.  He had had no choice but to share with us what he has in store for us.
In his own words he said “I'm working on a Mixtape titled "Obtuse" (I will explain why Obtuse some other time) together with a music video of one of the mixtape songs in the pipeline.”
He couldn’t tell how many tracks because he is full of energy to work on more than he planned as time goes by. King Obbs and Dj Best are so far the muscles behind the production and Turm himself produced most of the tape. “because I trust only I can fully express myself as an artist from the ground up than blending my artistry with a foreign hand.” He said.
“The tape consists of the mood elevating joints you need, conscious sounds that will sit you down
and my concepts that can almost confuse my music with comedy. I won't give out full info right now as who I've worked with because the tape hasn't been wrapped yet but all I can say is I strictly have big guns on this one - not only rappers but I'm talking a complete force” He continued….
When asked how many singles he’s going to drop before the complete tape, he said “I'm only planning to give out maybe 4 new singles (Including Ghetto) plus a music video and snippets of course, then the rest of the songs are gonna be on CD. To those who love "After School", well I have After School Part, 2 on the mixtape so watch out.

I should start selling the Mixtape at Hip Hop Cares. To those I may not reach in person, I will definitely make a way for everyone to have the tape through the internet. I pray and hope everyone will love this tape.

CancunSoul: Cancun soul is young hip hop dj originally from the Vooslorus but now in Steelpoort, he is all about mixing hip hop and making the speakers vibrate

Wise: So you a BGF kid now?

CancunSoul: Yeah. Straight outta BGF

Wise: Ma man. Who introduced you to the music scenes?

CancunSoul: Dj Shimza and the one and only Black coffe

Wise: Hold up! They groomed you or you mean they influenced you to become a dj?

CancunSoul: I grew up with my uncle and he always played music so I started loving music but when I saw videos of Black coffe and Shimza mixing live, I was influenced...the calling was too loud to be ignored and so I started practicing how to mix and cava me now I'm so next level"

Wise: So you started as a house dj?

CancunSoul: Yes I started as a house dj and became an ultimix freak where I got to mix house and hip hop at the same time but my other friend by the name Louis Sekgobela told me I should start mixing hip hop and when I gave it a try everything was smooth so I decided to be a hip hop dj

Wise: Ma man. Who are your favourite hip hop cats?

CancunSoul: Cassper nyovest and Ricky Rick , these two are the best, they inspire me a lot to top it all of I admire these guys, I also like nasty c , Tshego , okmalumlookat , stilo magolide , one phigo , sanele and emtee

Wise: That's quite a list proving that you a dj. But I do not see and artist from your hometown on your list, mind explaining the exclusion?

CancunSoul: I prefer quality music to put in my mixes bruh, but besides i have a very little fan base at BGF and a lot of fans from jhb ,Malawi , Zim, Namibia and Ghana and they always requesting the well-known cats but I'm proud to announce that I got #Swenk on my next mix #UTM42 (Until the morning 42)

Wise: I hear you my guy though I still believe we have good quality and it is you deejay's that need to plays your homies out there. Coffee did and Shimza is still doing. They take the unknown and make them brands

CancunSoul: If homies don't listen to my mixes then it’s kinda difficult for me too to play their sounds out there

Wise: Ok my guy. So you have a fan base out there? Tell us about it

CancunSoul: Ever since I started releasing mixes every week and promoting them 3 times a day, 'm proud to announce that my fan base is growing every day and it’s so amazing especially when I'm getting texts from fans in foreign countries

Wise: Great stuff. Where do you see yourself in 5 years as a disc jockey?

CancunSoul: Getting gigs; endorsement deals all over the world...lemme just say that

Wise: How many of your mixes are out there and what are you currently working on?

CancunSoul: I've got over 50 mixes and 8 live video mixes out...I'm still pushing the mixes but I want to pause and pursue bigger things like registering my record label and signing a few unknown acts from my hood long till.

Nose- January Freestyle 0.4 Lyrics (Download Link)

It’s a freestyle/ coming out of my meek mind/
it’s sad ya'll lames are not in my lane/ coz if ya'll
were you would pay for e-tolls for a pierce of my brain/
Like tesla's theory/ get you lost if you don’t hear
me/ spit raw till a deaf ear me/
an blind eye can see my picture on the ceiling/
Michael Angelo/ screw the indigos/ I am Son of
Yahweh God/ ya'll never get me though/
Each track with its different type stamina/
Quotable lines for future seminar/
Put my writing on the wall with this metaphors/
hold this hip hop torch/ and add a nod/ i am King
In My Orb/ hooked to a pearl/ bars in brain cell/
I am an alpha you could never dizz for real/ and the haters/
They piss on you/ they sleep on you/
when you are chasing your dreams and reality gives that wakeup call/
and the world wants you to fall/
When I kill songs the equalizer/ give bars like energizer/ I got the heart of lion/
trynna be pioneer/ let me tell about my crew techniques/
Artistic cats that utilize all league/ that actuall league/
 we make masterpieces/
and move y'all like telekinesis/ and drop hot feces/
I am grateful to homies that showed me love
before the come up/ RIP to Dj Koks you was like
a younger kid brother/ your death was a hard pill
to swallow/
The vision in my mind/ is a mission/ that i will
try/ to show gratitude coz you believed in me
before the hype/
Climb on beats/ bring heat/ like ladies summer
weave/ i hope they see/ the hard works of a true
mcee/
this is NOSE/
i have been on everybody's face for centuries/
my bars are heavy G/ like heavy D/ i am
heavenly/ being blessed with scripts rapidly/ for
sure i have speak/
I am from the hood where you seem weird for
doing Hip Hop/ i guess my rap circle will never
fit this block/
Like Turm i am a BGF rep/ BGF vet/ a
Bothashoek cat/ the statue architect/
I'm slick like i'd mac the apple of your eye/ and
give it bite/ but i am simple guy/ diss me i hope
ya'll homies do try/ coz ya'll weak(week) tracks
will short live like life's span of a fly/
I'd microsoft your words/ as i exel with my
verse/ coz i cause pain to rap careers like child
birth/
how is it that when you want do something/ they
look at you like you are nothing/ but your heart
wont stop pumping/ its got your back when they
fronting/ coz that nothing doesnt seem like
something until you make something out of
nothing/
i believe i am one of a kind/ birthed through
Christ/ my rhymes/ broadcast my entire mind/ i
think my thoughts/ are thinking of things i never
thought/ so i have to re-think what think is
thought/
so check the passion i am on/ i am showing all
off/ like Rick Ross with his shirt off/
i am on a different class/ i would never give
myself a title that would out match my rap/ little
OG/ keep it low key/ you're lourke/ i am the MC
with Hammer/ cant never touch this grammar/
now i bust my lungs and release a verse that is
colder/ and dust to dust/ to rappers who got no
composure/
heee heee
lyrical supernova/ takeover/ shine like nova/
break bread and drink wine to passover/ being
noble/
i am force to be reckon with/ dope and
effortless/ impossible to kill this cat just like how
the devil wishes the halo to glow again/
Nose the cat/ displaying skill inside my pen/
keep your artifact respect/ its pistorious legs/
not a true to my flesh/
Nose the capital whats up

Turm - Sunday Freestyle Lyrics (Download Link Available)

[Intro]
Mic check, ya yakwala
Sho....Genesis, BGF. Bothashoek!
*Blurbs*
Sorry, mic check!
*Clears Throat*
Do smell broke. Fresh!!! *Clears throat*
[1st Verse]
Fresh outta nothing, yeah I do smell broke.
But I'ma use the same word to make these
rappers lose hope
And give a happy disappearance like I made
them elope
You said u on your grind? Flip, I'm on my "F-
Word" mode!
Bothashoek village, I'm "Still Here" rooted
Burgersfort town, we run the streets bare footed.
And Prism is my twin, we shooting up like mad
rockets
And just so you know, we here to stay like back
pockets.
The devil is a liar and I'm a false dictionary (get
it?)
Don't fuck around but deliver the best like virgin
Marry
And Ngamawaza got airplayed on Yfm and
Metro.
Shit is crazy, guess the crap we be cooking is
legendary!
Damn we nice I'm feeling myself now!
Done with killing rappers so I'm killing my fans
now!
I'm killing everything I'm even killing joints.
I'm obsessed with killing I write my lyrics in
bullet points!!!
I told'em not to mess with me when I'm building
my legacy
But still they wouldn't take a seat and now the
crap is going acidic
I'm going lunatic, no medicine is stopping me.
Born a sin, so my verbal murder is out to make
your God not to say thing.
I've been around and I've never made enemies -
Either you my size or I kill you permanently.
Definitely the best to blast a test of syllables,
The next* will be hearsed on my nest of rhymes!
On my chest I'm spitting endlessly.
Genesis! Still the baddest thing.
Whatchu on about? we out menacing,
Prism and me murdering everyrthing..........
[Bridge]
(Talks to Sputla)
Ahhhh ke chokile
Ok , its ok, its ok , its ok , its ok
Skae stopa skae stopa!
Ke ska freestyla pele ke tswela pele, ke tloba ka
choka
[2nd Verse]
And who would have thought I'd go to Yfm killing
the full-clip!
And homies back at home hating on me waiting
for the day I slip up.
They been praying for my flop so I get kicked
out,
And when they did (kick me out)
They couldn't wait to tell the world, and laugh
about it
Motherfuckers on Facebook and Twitter
mentioning* my name.
Hate* is a bitch ntwana never doubt it.
But Scoop gave me a call and then I went,
fucked them up, now they need a blood test.
I've been around, learning has paid me.
Your fuckin' 'veterans' are too proud to
rate me.
But then I kill'em all - ofcos they will
hate me
But I keep on moving, I do not let them
intimidate me.
U see when coming to rap, I got it under control
Punchlines, sick flows and all them beats - I
kill'em all
And yall niggers are tryna be part of it but fall.
You don't belong in this family, you just a brother
in law!
I take time when I write my script
I take with the keys when I make a beat
I take time with my music till I make a hit
And then I take time to eat for the perfect shit
Yeah!
And may the Lord bless Genesis,
And keep us far from these discouraging
enemies.
And if you ever tell me music is a waste of time,
I'ma slap you in the face 2 times for emphasis
Bothashoek Manners was the 1st bake,
But the shit is spreading fast like a motherfuken
sex tape
It is okay if they boast about girls and cheddar
But when coming to the mic, none of these
niggers is better
And fuck a punchline, I'm done with those.
I spit syllables and flows you cannot oppose.
I shut their minds cos they not even close to
beating me.
I 'kill' performances, no wonder why I'm never
getting shows
I got love for my niggers in Bothashoek
STN is the reason I'm having cocky looks! Shout
Outs to the A.League, a straight clique, we stay
big and we kick. Yeah we stay good
Tibo-touch told them I be worth millions!
Check the score-sheet, I stay top never reading
loss.
Now step up your swag, its the only thing you'd
beat me on
cos with the flows I keep on changing like
chameleons.
And gratitudes to everyone following our music
34 downloads, we still appreciate it
Big or not we promise to stay real,
spitting rhymes to make you hit your head
against the wall until you bleed. Yeah!!!
"Shit is crazy guess the crap we be cooking is

legendary"

From 021 to 013. In Touch With Gunna

This man is one of the men that make me believe that anything is possible regardless of living conditions. He is a Cape Town rapper busting rhymes from a wheelchair. I got in touch with The Real Gunna.

Wise: Gunna ma dwag

Gunna: What’s good my G

Wise: I'm collected my guy. How is the cape today?

Gunna: It’s really windy n cold G but can't complain. Just getting' ready to take over the world. And ya side?

Wise: it's cool with winter sneaking on us. So you ready?

Gunna: Ready as hell

Wise: Ma man that's what I like to hear. First tell us about Gunna. Who is Gunna and what is he about?

Gunna: Gunna is an artist, brand, and entrepreneur and does hip hop musik. What Gunna is about is creative thinking, positivity, inspiring the youth and most importantly tryna make somethin' out of nothin'. I believe I'm Blessed. So I'm using' that to bless other people through my musik.

Wise: Ma man I'm sure my audiences wanna know where you hail from....

Gunna: I'm from the murder capital (haha) - A biggest township in Cape Town that goes by the name of "Khayelitsha" the code is 7784 - But was born in Mitchells Plain, also from Cape Town just that it was more of a suburb than khayelitsha. Moved from there to Khayelitsha in 1998 after ma pops passed in 1997. So yea, that's where this rose that grew from the concrete hail from.

Wise: hahaha ok, when did you get into this rapping Game?

Gunna: I've always been here by Heart, just that couldn't get a chance of a Studio time - After I left high school (dropped out) in 2010, I started gettin' closer n closer, and while I was in hospital I jot down some rhymez over beatz I copped from the internet. When I got out in 2012 out of hospital, I met with a producer who owns a record label "Paperwork Productions" - And dropped my first official single in 2013 with them, dropped another one same year then recorded a full album (which I haven't dropped til' today caus' of poor quality I got from that label) - So since then, I've been puttin' in work raisin' bar for the culture to remain relevant to the game. By the way right now I'm with Purple Beats Studios; I also
own a record label aswel RMG Records

Wise: You stayed at the hospital for a while. wanna talk about it?

Gunna: Yes sir I can talk about it - I stayed in hospital for almost a year last time I was there to amputate my right leg after it got infected by the bullet that hit me back in 2008, when I was young dumb and livin' life on a fast lane and associated withe wrong people and got caught up in the mix. All of that experience had a young men livin' life on a wheelchair and still I push forward can't give up that's what I was taught. Make long story short, I got shot in 2008 and that's the reason I've been in and out of hospital. I opened my eyes in 2013 that now I got make a change in my life and for the better. Since then I've never been to hospital. I hate them (haha) but shout out to my doctor, he gave me hope and I gave him a great experience, I almost died last time I was there but being this soldier God created I'm still here. Thanks for askin' G.

Wise: Ma man I was inspired when I heard you a rapper sitting on a wheelchair. Now coming back to music, who did you grow up listening to and who is your biggest influence?

Gunna: I grew up listening to a lot of Tupac, Eminem, Dr Dre, Snoop Dogg, The Game, 50 Cent to name a few. But mostly was influenced by 2pac caus' it looked like me and him had the same vision, he spoke to me soul to soul heart to heart beat for a beat.

Wise: And what challenges do you face as a rapper, in fact as Gunna?

Gunna: As an artist the challenge I'm facin' is that people wanna support you when you're on tv, magazine or winning. As a brand, the challenge I'm facin' so far is none (haha). As an entrepreneur, I'm still on the rise and my challenge is gettin' those deals but I'm gettin' there, I'm on my way up. I'm in this business caus' it’s a challenge itself to be here, and I'm here to win and take it all. For my people, my familia. Failure for me is a livin' proof that I'm tryin' and learning - So now all I have to do is get up and try again from what I've learnt. It goes on and on. Nobody can stop me now but God.

Wise: What is the highlight of your career?

Gunna: When I was featured on HYPE Magazine representin' Cape Town as the Best Newcomer in 2016, it was a feb/march issue. That's the biggest achievement in my career by far. I also took part as a performer a year ago at iKasi Experience, it’s a biggest township event hosted by DJ LOYD and Sir Vincent. Also released the best EP to come out of CPT last year entitled "Revolution" - Also got 3 singles that's been played at Bush Radio on the Headwarmaz Show. It’s been a great journey and there's more still to come.

Wise: Ma man, now tell me, you've been vocal in raising your concern against promoters not booking the locals especially upcoming artists. Tell us about it

Gunna: Yea G - that's a big issue around here that they sleepin' on. We have a lot of talent in the local and some of us are workin' so hard but still, we ain't recognized. Now they make us believe we gotta head to Joburg to make it, whereas there are organizers who are doing it big in events who only focusing on getting major artists and sleeping on the great upcoming artists like us. Caus' they only wannaa eat alone, Casper is already getting' millions but these people still book him in Cape Town. What about us gettin' that paper they givin' them to support our families aswel? Caus' we also do this music for them but they do nothin' for us. It’s a big problem and most artists enjoy being booked for free, that's like robbing me off my talent man my hard work. They have to give us a chance to shine and get that money, they shouldn't eat alone. But I will also empower artists to not only depend on them, save money get a team together people who are organized to sit down with and plan your own event, book your own people and pay them for their time so we can all eat. That's part of my mission, all we need is to just unite and support each other's visions. Even though it ain't easy

Wise: But the question however, does upcoming artists sell themselves enough, do you guys go out there pull all the muscles to network and grow a working and professional relationship with promoters ?

Gunna: Promoters don't wanna be found. And when you find them, they run away. I don't wanna drop names and sound like a hater, but to be honest it’s like that. I appreciate the organizers who recognizing' me and book me but I feel like there's more than that. Caus' you can't ask me to go to Town where people pay to get in and I perform but you can't pay me for my time. There's nothin' professional about that if you ask me, it’s just wastin' my time. Like them, we also wanna eat and respek them so we expect the same. We superstars as well people look up to us, we should be treated like ones. I'm not looking' for fame, but somethin' to make a livin' with. Until they give us, we gon' be aight. But for now, they wanna give it to the guys who already gettin' it. There's politics as well here.

Wise: Haha ok I hear you man. What are your social med handles where people can get hold of you?

Gunna: I'm @RealGunnaTR everywhere (Facebook, Twitter & IG) - And our page is "Revolution Music Group" –

Wise: Ma ninja. Keep pushing man, keep them lights on. we celebrate and appreciate your life

Gunna: Highly Appreciated G - and thanks to all those who keep showin' love also for a nygga, caus' I couldn't get inspiration if it wasn't for them givin' their love. I will always do it for the people, caus' we people caus' people. Whether it breaks us or makes us, but people make other people. Peace to the World
Wise: That's what's up
